Meeting the Right Person Online
So you have searched high and
low and you still haven’t found that special someone
that makes your heart beat faster, your stomach flutter
with butterflies just by seeing them sign online. Well,
maybe there are a few things you are doing wrong, and
here are a few tips that can help increase your chances
of meeting the true love of your life, all from your
computer. You may meet people online, however; they may
not be the right people, so how do you go about meeting
the right person online? It’s an art of sorts and here
are some tips to get you started:
Don’t fall for the “perfect”
profile. That’s right, don’t let the first impression of
someone’s picture on their profile be the reason you
contact them. Take more time to read on what they like,
dislike, want in life; and maybe you will find yourself
to not want to talk to that person anymore, although you
did when you first saw their face. Online dating
profiles are resumes of a different kind, and it’s
important that you are not superficial and talk to
people just abased on looks alone. This can prove to be
a hardship when it comes to meeting the right person.
Now, don’t get me wrong, physical attraction is natural,
but don’t let that be your only guide.
Don’t give up to easily. If you
come across a profile that seems to be just average, but
there are a few things that do interest you, maybe
contact that person anyway; you never know. The online
dating profile is just a small portion of what that
person is really about and you may find you have more in
common than you figure. If you happen to meet a match in
real life, and the first date doesn’t go exactly as
planned, don’t give up. If you like the person, perhaps
giving them a second chance would prove to be worth it.
After all, nerves, anxiety and just plain shyness can
get in the way of a first date, and a second date may be
necessary to make your decision concrete about whether
you like someone or not.
Take your time. This is the
most important part of the process. Don’t expect love to
come overnight after you sign up to a dating service
online. It takes time to get to know people and of
course, it’s best that you take it slow for safety
reasons as well. Other than safety, taking it slow can
prove to be more exciting between matches as you can get
to know each other more on the telephone or through
instant messengers. Technology has advanced so much over
the years; you can even have a “virtual video date”
online without leaving your home. When you feel like you
are interested in someone, and you think they feel the
same way, there shouldn’t be a rush; the mystery behind
waiting and taking your time can prove to be more
exciting than jumping into anything serious.
Meeting the right person will
take patience, dedication and honesty. Be upfront about
what you want, and don’t settle for less. If you don’t
find your match right away, hold out until you do.
Online dating can be a fun, flirty way to meet other
people and potential partners, so do it right and go for
it!
